I am somewhat of a special case because I have a physiological condition that causes facial blushing. The problem for me was that no amount of hypnosis in the world would cure my blushing. The first treatment I tried was Beta-Blockers which supposedly help in stimulating an overactive sympathetic nervous system. Unfortunately, they did not work for me and neither did the SSRI pills. That left me with two choices - either try to find a way to live with my condition or get the ETS operation. After carefully analysing the pros and cons with the operation, and talking with my doctor I ended up having the operation.
I researched doctors in the area where I lived and found one that I was happy with. Furthermore, I read on the internet that about 3 - 5% are not happy with the result of the operation and as a result I wanted to be on the safe side and get the clamping instead of the cutting procedure done. The reason for this is that clamping is easier to reverse.
After the operation I noticed a marked reduction in both facial blushing and sweaty palms, but I have noticed a somewhat increase in underarm sweating and sweating on my back. However, concealing sweating on my back and under my arms where easier to conceal than excessively sweaty palms. I am happy with my decision, but you should be careful with all operations.
Good luck to all,
Hopefully you will be able to find a solution that works for you.
